Sexuality & Sex-Positive Resources

We are working on assembling a collection of sex-positive online resources that might prove helpful to members of the BDSM, fetish and kink community for the Montreal metropolitain area.

SEX & DISABILITY RESOURCES

ACSEXE+ – Sexuality, access and disability in Quebec
A bilingual multimedia project; it’s goal is to create a space to talk about sex positivity and disabilities in Québec. Whether it’s discussing assistance in physical sexual settings, or stereotypes and confidence, or getting down to practical things like sex positions and where to meet potential romantic partners, nothing is taboo for our collaborators.

CERHES – Centre Ressources Handicaps et Sexualité
(Disability & Sexual Resource Center) French-only website based in France. Promoting the sexual health of people with disabilities.

MEDICAL RESOURCES

Gynéco Positive
Born from a general need for safety and respect when consulting a professional for gynecological issues. Unfortunately, for many people these consultations are synonymous with judgment, paternalism and aggression. For others, they can mean dehumanizing births, painful vaginal exams or inappropriate comments about their bodies. Because of situations like this, more and more people are viewing gynecology as a dehumanizing practice and are demanding better care.
Gynéco Positive recognizes that gynecological violence disproportionately affects racialized, indigenous and LGBTQI2S people and that the history of gynecology is intertwined with racist and colonialist practices that still exist to this day. Gynéco Positive is building a list of health care professionals  (family doctors, gynecologists, etc.) whose practices are positive, feminist and anti-oppressive.

Montreal Women’s Health Centre
Their website is in French, however they state that they offer services in both English and French.
